Congratulations to Diego, Daxton and Grayson who have just become the first players to graduate from Soccaskool’s full time (Development Team) Program and try out for Thompson Okanagan Football Club. TOFC is a Regional Program, which draws the best players from across the Okanagan to play in the BC Soccer Premier League, and therefore enter the recognized High Performance Pathway in BC, leading to opportunities to compete for spots on the BC Provincial Team, Whitecaps Professional Residency Program, and ultimately, Canadian National Team Programs.
These three players were the only 2004 born players on Soccaskool’s 2004/5 Development Team last year, and we were delighted to hear that they have all been selected to represent TOFC.
All three were named on the TOFC 2004 Intake roster, and will now go ahead and compete in the BCSPL U13 Intake season beginning in September. This brings the number of Soccaskool graduates playing for TOFC teams to ten (we also have one playing for Coquitlam Metro Ford BCSPL)
Next year will be the turn of our flagship 2005 players, and we will be hoping to double that number as we continue to demonstrate that our academy offers a viable alternative development pathway to the traditional TOYSL U11 and U12 Development Program.
Well done boys, and we will be following your progress with interest as you enter the U13 to U18 Youth Soccer years !
