Okanagan FC is very pleased to announce that our application to BC Soccer for Charter Club Standard One status has now been completed. The application is awaiting review by BC Soccer and once approved, Okanagan FC is hoping to be one of the first Associate Member clubs in The Province to achieve Charter Club status.
You can read all about BC Soccer and the Club Charter Program HERE.
Okanagan FC are very proud to be named as Associate Members of BC Soccer. We are now recognized by our Provincial governing body as a privately owned, for profit, soccer club. Furthermore, in September 2018 BC Soccer announced the inclusion of Associate Members to the BC Soccer Club Charter Program.
BC Soccer Charter Clubs are able to demonstrate to players, parents, coaches and referees that they meet set standards in all areas of their operation, both on and off the field. The decision to allow Associate Members, like ourselves, to apply for Charter Club status is part of BC Soccer’s efforts to increase inclusion in the soccer landscape here in BC. Okanagan FC will be applying for Charter Club status at the earliest opportunity, and we are already working towards making sure that our club meets the standards required.

Okanagan FC’s Development Teams were all in action in the sunshine at City Park this weekend, competing in a variety of tournament matches, exhibition matches, and BCASL league matches.
Our U10 Boys played for the ‘Soccaskool Cup’ against academies from Kamloops and Vernon, as well as our friends from FCB Escola who travelled from the Lower Mainland for the event. Our boys picked up the trophy by winning all three of their matches in the competition. Well done boys !
Our U11 Girls also got their hands on The Soccaskool Cup after defeating our own U12 Girls and also Kamloops U12 Girls in tournament format….a great achievement, well done girls !
Our U12 Girls had a great game against Kamloops U12 Girls, who had beaten us 4-0 in Victoria last weekend. This time around the game was a very entertaining 1-1 draw…big improvement girls, well done !
Our U9 Boys had mixed fortunes in their games, as did our U12 Boys….both teams winning one and losing one over the weekend.
Our U11 Boys came from behind twice to beat Kamloops 4-3 in BCASL league play in what may have been the match of the weekend. Great effort boys, well done !
Soccaskool graduates Kai and Braden are doing pretty well since they ‘graduated’ from our 2005 U12 Development Team last year. The boys were amongst eight Soccaskool graduates who were successful in being named on the U13 Thompson Okanagan FC team, who are the club representing The Interior in the BC Soccer Premier League.
Good performances for TOFC over the course of the year got these two noticed and earned them call ups onto the BC Provincial Team. We will look forward to hearing their progress with that as they compete for spots on the final roster over the coming months.
This is the recognized pathway in BC for high performance players and we are very proud to have played our part in helping these players towards it.
Congratulations Kai and Braden, and keep up the good work!
