PCSL tryouts are fast approaching and we have been delighted by the response so far from Kelowna’s Men’s soccer community. There are now over 60 players registered for the tryout, which begins on March 11th….we are anticipating a final tryout number of 70-75 players. This is really important for us, because we do not want to just ‘make up the numbers’ in the PCSL, we want to be a truly competitive team right from the start of the season in mid May.
It is not too late to register for tryouts. All of the information and the registration link can be found at https://okanaganfc.com/tryouts/
The league has announced the competing teams for the season ahead. They are KHALSA SPORTING CLUB, KAMLOOPS WOLFPACK, VICTORIA HIGHLANDERS, OKANAGAN FC, VANCOUVER TIGERS, MID ISLE FC, PENTICTON SC and SURREY UTD FC. The eight team division is going to be very strong and we are looking forward to some excellent soccer matches.
Our team’s pre season is set up nicely, with 12 weeks of practise scheduled complete with a strength and conditioning element. We have partnered with Kinetic Evolution, who will be providing a physio at training sessions and home matches. We have exhibition matches set up with Kamloops and Penticton mid way through the pre season program. Finally, we have a trip to the Lower Mainland arranged for the weekend of April 27/28, where we will play exhibitions with TSS Rovers (a USL 2 team) and Khalsa Sporting Club (the current PCSL champions).
We have started getting sponsors stepping up to align themselves with our PCSL team. We were very pleased to announce partnerships with Okanagan Peak Performance and Kinetic Evolution recently. Okanagan Spring have been announced as our partner brewery and several other local companies are in discussions with us on a variety of sponsorships. We have a number of sponsor opportunities still available and anybody interested should contact us.
